Every November the estate stops to gather what the year has grown — and it does not gather alone. The harvest is shared with our neighbours in Onipe and Aba Otun: the children, the elders, the drummers and dancers who make the land feel like home.
A working farm is measured in seasons. Ours turns on one fixed point: the November harvest, when the cassava, the pepper, the cocoa and — at the centre of it all — the yam come out of the ground together. It is the moment the year's labour becomes the produce in our catalogue.
But the harvest was never meant to be a private event. From the start we made it a day for the communities that surround the estate. The first Yam Harvest, in 2022, set the pattern we have kept every year since.

Shop the catalogue →The estate at Onipe opened its gates for the first Yam Harvest. Dancers from the community came in traditional dress with baskets for the yams; drummers led the procession from the field to the farmhouse. Elders, mothers and the children of Onipe and Aba Otun gathered to receive the first tubers of the season — pulled fresh from the soil and presented by hand, as a yam harvest has always been marked.
The Yam Harvest returned for its second edition. By now the estate's range was showing in the yield: alongside the yams came bunches of plantain and the first fruit from the young orchard. Chiefs and elders were received as guests of honour, and the children of the neighbouring communities came again.
By the third harvest the tradition had grown into something larger than a single day's celebration. 2024 was a bounty year — and the estate chose to mark it by giving back in a form that outlasts a season. On 9 November 2024 the community gathered not only for the harvest, but for a commissioning: a new school hall, sport courts, a borehole and bathroom facilities, built for Community Secondary School, Onipe.
A good year on the land became classrooms on it. The same long view we take of the soil — planting for harvests we will not see for years — is the view we take of the children who grow up around it.
Held on Saturday 29 November 2025, the fourth harvest was again a celebration of a bountiful year. The gathering had grown — marquees on the open field, the orchard maturing around it, and the produce of the estate now reaching well beyond the yam that gave the day its name.
The harvest is the headline, but the estate works the whole year. A young orchard is coming into fruit — lemon and other citrus, and pineapple among the rows — and a greenhouse now raises vegetables under cover: cabbage, lettuce, basil and onions among them. What begins here ends up in the catalogue.
The tradition continues. Our next harvest falls on 14 November 2026, on the estate at Onipe Village. What comes out of the ground that month becomes the produce you can order from us the rest of the year.
